Triathlon England “CLUB RELAYS” Championships in Nottingham – 24th/25th August

Triathlon clubs across England competing for the 2013 club relay championships at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham  Team of 4

  • 4 by 500m open water swim
  • 4 by 15km bike around the rowing lakes
  • 4 by 5km run (one circuit of the Lake paths)

A superb event.  This is a triathlon with a difference.  The difference is you get recovery time after each element of the triathlon while you cheer on the other 3 in your team and then its your turn again.  Typically event times are very fast as it is 3 individual races which at the end of each you can collapse is a satisfied heap knowing you have given it your all.  Then recover and do it all again.  PB’s in swim, cycle and run are there for the taking!

This is also a great social event for MVH friends and family as the whole event can be watched from seated and grassed areas.  As competitors – hearing the combined MVH shouts of encouragement as you go past is a great feeling!  Then as you complete each stage of the triathlon the mad dash into transitions ( fast & furious) is always entertaining with names being screamed out as team members seek to pass the baton.

And like all good social events – there will be MVH Food and drinks to keep competitors and supporters well charged throughout the race.

In previous years MVH has entered a number of teams included serious triathletes (aren’t we all?),  mixed male and female teams, female only teams and some “should know better” VET teams.

As MVH teams, MVH TRI club this year will be subsidising the cost of entry by £100 per team to ensure that the cost to enter as one of 4 in a team is only £15.  (Official Team cost for 4  is £160)  MVH will refund all MVH entered teams with the MVH subsidy on confirmation of entry.

Check your diaries?  Seek out a team of 4?

Definitely!

(One Step Beyond are the organisers and there website contains all the info on the event and how to enter)

MVH Aquathon Results – Races 1 to 3

redirected  (see below)

swim over each other…  well you have to really…
run quicker to the Salt box… then realise you have to run back…
pass out with over heating…

Aquathon 3 in the series was completed on a glorious summers evening – when the water was really far too warm and there was insufficient cold wind and no rain.  Perfect really.

The results are in…for all 3 aquathons.  And yes everyone is getting quicker, eh.. apart from those with an eye on a handicap.    Water was too warm…

Review results below and note!  It’s that summer thing.  Makes most go faster!
