We have settled into swimming at The Lavender Patch and are pleased to be in a position to open up swimming to non MVH Triathlon Club members. The ONLY session available initially will be 1015 – 1130am on Saturdays and the price is £5.00. As and when government/BTF restrictions lift we will be able to remove the number restrictions and offer more sessions for non-members. I will advise when you are able to book on other sessions.
Please find attached instructions as to how to set up a booking profile and register for activities.
Due to COVID regulations an online booking system is in place through ClubSpark and you must set up an account using this link to be able to book onto sessions. Please also include your medical info and emergency contact details within your profile so we have them if needed.

OPEN WATER SWIMMING INFORMATION
Prior to attending a swim session at the lake you must do the following:
1. Complete a Return to Play questionnaire (once per year to cover any swim/bike/run activity or if your circumstances have changed).
2. Complete a Swim Waiver Form online (once per year)
3. Book and pay online via Club Spark for your session.
**FAILURE TO BOOK ON VIA CLUBSPARK,OR COMPLETE THE MANDATORY FORMS OR BOOKING ON ANY SESSION OTHER THAN SATURDAY 10.15 – 11.30AM WILL MEAN YOU ARE UNABLE TO SWIM***
Sessions will run on Saturdays 10.15 – 11.30am.Registration will move to the car parking side of the bridge so please adhere to social distancing where you will be checked in against Clubspark bookings.
Once checked in you will go over the bridge to the lakeside and place your belongings as normal where a spotter will be guiding you. At the end of the session there will be a 15 minute changeover period so please try to move towards your cars when you have left the water to allow the bridge to be clear for the next session attendees.
Sanitising products will be available but please avoid sharing equipment where possible. There will be a small amount of tow floats available to purchase should you be crazy enough to be swimming without a wet suit and need one (disclaimer: no club responsibility for the products sold!)
Spectators are discouraged until restrictions are lifted and no doggy spectators are allowed on site this year. If you can help with spotting please do sign up to help by a Facebook message to Sam Owen or emailing her on firstname.lastname@example.org. All members will pay for swimming other than the designated spotters and registration helpers who will get a free swim and will not need to book via Clubspark but will be manually added onsite.
Most of us will have had very limited swimming experience over the last 12 months or so. Please be aware of your limits and tolerance in terms of fitness and water temperature which may be vastly different from previous seasons. This year members will be encouraged to start by swimming half laps. Please speak to one of the coaches for advice if needed. Please do not enter the site if you are feeling unwell as this may result in a closure of the venue/track and trace impact on fellow users and volunteers.
Whilst there are guidelines to keep everyone safe there will be plenty of opportunity for socially distanced fun and interactions so even if it’s just a quick acclimatising dip we look forward to seeing everyone lakeside very soon!
