Saturday Morning Pool Swim Training

Repton School, Derbyshire – Saturday morning, DE65 6FH

We have a regular Saturday morning pool swim (7.30am – 8.30am) in the 25 meter pool within the Repton School Sports Complex, Repton. Located about 3 miles off the A38 north of Burton on Trent / A50 junction. This session includes a range of drills, swim sets, general fitness, strength, skills and techniques dependent on the training phase we are working on in the triathlon season and training calendar.

Thursday Night Pool Swim Training  (Approx Sept – April to replace open water over the winter period)

Abbotts Bromley School, Abbots Bromley,  WS15 3BW

Over the autumn/winter we have a Thursday evening swim with Burntwood Tri 7.30-8.30pm at Abbotts Bromley Girls School Complex. This is a 6 lane 23 metre pool and the session is coached with a mixture of technique drills and conditioning swim sets.

Directions: From Burton on the A515, take the B5234 to Abbotts Bromley. At the T junction at Abbotts Bromley, turn right onto the B5014 towards Uttoxeter. Almost immediately the road bends a sharp lest opposite the Coach & Horses pub. Just after the bend turn left onto a drive through a gap in the buildings. Park in an available space and the pool is located on the right.

 

Monday Night Pool Swim Training

Lichfield, Staffordshire – Monday night, WS13 7EW

MVH Tri club members are also able to participate in coached swim sessions held by the Burntwood Triathlon Club, at the Friary Grange Leisure Centre, Eastern Avenue, Lichfield, Staffordshire. This coached pool swimming is held on Mondays from 8.00pm – 9.00pm.

Open water swimming,

Hilton, Derbyshire – in season, DE65 5FZ

During the summer months open water swimming takes place at the ‘Lavender Patch Lake’ which is a secluded private lake, north of Burton on Trent and south of Derby, 1 mile off the A50/A514 junction in a farm on the edge of the village of Hilton. Lavender Patch Lake, Hall Croft Farm, Uttoxeter Road, Hilton. This is a clean and shallow lake, with a a swim buoy marked route of approaximately 550 metres around its edge.
