British Triathlon has announced 3 Aquathon qualifiers events for the London based 2013 London ITU World Championships “Aquathon”. This will be held on 9th September.
All the qualifiers are Sprint based distances – 750m open water swim + 5km run. Top 7 in each age group at each event will qualify for London 2013.
To qualify for this event athletes must take part in one of the three specific qualification races detailed below.
Athletes only need enter one race to qualify although can enter more if they wish.
As the host nation we are allowed to enter more athletes than other nations. There are 25 places available per age-group.
There are 7 automatic places available at each of the three qualification races (21 in total). The remaining 4 places will be allocated via pre-qualification places, discretionary places and then roll down places, in that order.
To be eligible for qualification athletes must have registered (£10) their intent to qualify by 5pm on the Friday before their qualification race. To register follow the links on the following BTF page.
To qualify all athletes are expected to complete their qualification race in a time within 115% of the winner in their age group.
Places will be offered automatically to the highest placed registered athletes finishing within the appropriate percentage of the winner and that have not already qualified at a previous race or via pre-qualification.

Crosby Lakeside Aquathlon, 19 May 2013 Cost £18!
Tri It Aquathlon, 25 May 2013. Cost £20
Prior to your qualification race you must register with British Triathlon your intent to qualify.
This BTF registration is £10 and is completely separate to any additional notification, fees or ticked boxes on a race entry form.
